Olympics and PR

Why are countries so eager to host the Olympics, and what correlation does this have to do with public relations? Robert K. Barney thinks, “When a host city is placed before the television eyes of two-thirds of the world’s population, the event becomes a magnified public relations and advertising phenomenon…”
