PR stunt on Twitter

Twitter, you have the world a twitter.  How cute. Here’s an article taking a look at Hugh Jackman’s recent mis-twitter.  He didn’t type the Tweet message himself, imagine.  And then he Tweeted that he’d give $100,000 to a non-profit organization that could best pitch its work in Twitter’s 140-characters.

So what’s the deal?  A leading PR rep claims, “Many celebrities have their assistants quietly post their comments incognito, without fans realising. “Sometimes it’s them, but very often it’s not.  Twitter has become incredibly important in marketing campaigns over the last six months and as soon as that started to happen, I knew the medium was dead. This wonderful social networking system has become bastardised by celebrity and by marketing.”
