Let’s start with a basis question: why should you consider public relations? Here’s my quick take on it:
You have an overwhelming number of options when it comes to getting your business noticed and noted. Here are a few of BAM Communications’ reasons to consider public relations:
1) Variety: A PR campaign secures a whole spectrum of press and media at various times, making the awareness level of your business enhanced by a multi-outlet approach. Rather than running an ad in one magazine for 3 consecutive months, for instance, PR efforts can land you in 10 different outlets at different times.
2) Cost effective: Don’t have the ad budget of Pepsi? No problem. A PR campaign is often much less expensive than advertising in even a few outlets.
3) Creditable: You may think you’re the best, and you probably are. But-when a journalist, reviewer, or someone in media tells people you are the best, it’s much more impacting because media exists to report unbiased, un-bought information. You don’t pay a journalist to report on your business-your PR firm convinces the media that your story is interesting, different, and important.
4) Impacting: Thinking of expanding or showcasing yourself as the leader in your industry? Nothing demonstrates to your customers, clients, potential investors, and more that you’re the best than a wall of media and press clips saying so.
5) Helpful to ranking: Today, more and more media and press outlets exist in some capacity on the Internet, if not completely. When you get a mention in the press, your online ranking and search engine optimization increases when the mention is included online.
Excellent points!
